DPCA LEADS LARGEST WATER SAFETY EVENT OF THE YEAR

FREE FAMILY FRIENDLY EVENT AT TAPATIO CLIFFS

On June 1, the Drowning Prevention Coalition of Arizona, SRP, and water safety advocates will come together for a public family-friendly event designed to educate the community about drowning prevention.

“Tapping into Water Safety” is celebrating its 25^th year at the Tapatio Cliffs Resort. This free event is held annually to bring the community together for a one-stop-shop for education and information.

“While this location is amazing and fun for families to enjoy, we hope that the takeaway is that we need to be vigilant around all bodies of water,” says DPCA President Jay Arthur. “The relentless number of drownings already this year underscores that importance. We can’t let up our vigilance and we must take action to reduce risks around water.”

Attendees will enjoy free access to the resort pool. Raffles prizes will be awarded throughout the morning.

The Drowning Prevention Coalition, a community-based organization comprised of parents, health and safety professionals and business leaders, exists to provide a forum to prevent drowning and near drowning through the promotion of education, legislative action and enhanced product safety. SRP works with local organizations and Valley fire departments to provide customers and communities with safety-focused programs, resources and events. SRP is a community-based, not-for-profit public power utility and the largest provider of electricity in the greater Phoenix metropolitan area, serving more than 1 million customers. SRP also is the metropolitan area’s largest supplier of water, delivering about 800,000 acre-feet annually to municipal, urban and agricultural water users.
